On May 6, 2020, the U.S. Department of Education and the Office of Civil Rights released its Final Rule under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in education programs or activities receiving federal financial assistance. In compliance with the Final Rule, the University has adopted an Interim Policy on Sexual Harassment and Other Prohibited Sexual Conduct, effective Aug. 14, 2020.

The University’s former policy, the Prohibited Sexual Conduct Policy, and its procedures and training have been revised to reflect the major provisions provided in the Final Rule
