The University has a new Unmanned Aircraft Systems Policy to govern the process of properly operating a UAS within its property and the airspace above it. A UAS is any unmanned aerial vehicle, drone, or model aircraft that is operated from more than 1 foot away via a tether, remote control, or autonomous control.

The Policy ensures that any UAS operated on University property or pursuant to University purposes is operated in compliance with the University’s mission of teaching, research, service, and administration. It also helps to protect the safety and security of University students, employees, and campus visitors.
